Mumbai, April 10: Punjabi singer and rapper Badshah’s controversial song ‘Tattiri’ was removed from all social media platforms due to explicit lyrics. Acknowledging the mistake, the artist had previously issued an apology. Now, he is set to reintroduce the song, showcasing the essence of Haryana’s local culture and music.
Badshah has announced the re-release of ‘Tattiri’ with modifications, along with a new title. He took to social media to reveal that the song will be launched as ‘Tattiri Phir Se’. The singer expressed his respect for the sentiments of the audience and assured that the issues that previously offended Haryana and the nation will not recur. The revamped song is scheduled to be released on YouTube on April 14.
In a sneak peek shared on Instagram, Badshah wrote, “In recent weeks, we have listened to the concerns raised by government officials, the women’s commission, social activists, and many who care about our culture regarding our song ‘Tattiri’. Based on this feedback, we have made essential changes and removed any parts deemed offensive. I respect this response and the sentiments behind it. As an artist, our responsibility towards our society and culture is equally important.”
He added, “Tattiri Phir Se is the next step in this journey. Your support, voice, and trust have kept this song alive. I hope its new form carries the same energy and respect. The song will officially release on April 14.” It seems that with the changes, the singer also felt it was appropriate to alter the song’s title.
Recently, Badshah had to appear before the National Commission for Women, where he apologized for his mistakes and took on the responsibility of supporting the education of some young girls.
