Naman Dheer Aims to Establish Himself as a True All-Rounder Ahead of T20 Clash Against West Indies
Naman Dheer expresses desire to be a true all-rounder, prioritizing batting as India leads T20 series against West Indies.

Hyderabad, October 14 (Daily Kiran) : Indian all-rounder Naman Dheer is determined to establish himself as a true all-rounder, prioritizing his batting contributions. Ahead of the fourth T20 match against the West Indies at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, he emphasized that the host team cannot afford to be complacent, even with a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
Dheer acknowledged the challenges posed by the visiting team, stating that India must maintain the same energy and intensity that secured their recent 14-run victory at Holkar Stadium in Indore. “The West Indies are undoubtedly a very dangerous team, especially in this format. This teaches us that we cannot be careless at any stage of the series. Yes, we are ahead 2-1, but we will play with the same enthusiasm,” he remarked.
The 26-year-old currently leads the series with five wickets, an interesting statistic considering all his dismissals have come after conceding sixes. He expressed his desire to change that trend in the upcoming match. “I hope I won’t concede a six before taking a wicket this time. I wasn’t aware that I was the leading wicket-taker in the series. I’ve learned a lot and have been discussing various bowling aspects with Gautam (Gambhir) and the other coaches,” he said.
Dheer also reiterated his ambition to become a genuine all-rounder, emphasizing his focus on scoring runs. “I definitely want to be a true all-rounder, but right now, I want to score more runs. I had an opportunity in the last match, and I’m glad we won,” he added.
Confident about playing at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Dheer compared its dimensions favorably to that of Indore, where India recently celebrated a victory. “If you look at the Indore ground, it was much smaller. Therefore, I feel more confident here compared to the last match,” he concluded.
