My India Launches Nationwide Youth Connect Program for Drug-Free India

New Delhi, July 15: In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed and drug-free India by 2047, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is set to launch the Developed India Youth Connect Program (VBYCP). This initiative, organized by My India, will run from July 15 to August 15, 2026, across universities and colleges under the special theme of “Drug-Free Youth for Developed India.”

The month-long program aims to connect young citizens with the vision of a developed India while raising awareness about the dangers of substance abuse. By integrating civic engagement with anti-drug awareness, the program seeks to empower youth to become ambassadors for a healthy, responsible, and drug-free India.

Participants will engage in interactive sessions, presentations, awareness activities, and digital participation on the My India platform. The goal is to encourage youth to actively contribute to nation-building by understanding that a drug-free society is essential for achieving the vision of a developed India.

Under this program, renowned youth icons—including state champions from the Developed India Young Leaders Dialogue, winners of the Developed India Youth Parliament, NSS awardees, National Youth awardees, and other successful youth leaders—will visit educational institutions to interact with students. They will share their insights on India’s development journey and discuss how addiction poses significant challenges to individual aspirations, societal welfare, and national progress.

Participants will also view a specially created awareness film showcasing the experiences of individuals and families affected by addiction. Following this, a pledge for a drug-free India will be taken, reinforcing their commitment to leading a healthy life and contributing to the nation’s development. Whenever possible, testimonials from recovery warriors, in collaboration with NGOs and spiritual organizations, will be included to enhance the campaign’s impact.

To encourage greater youth participation, My India service desks will be set up at program venues for on-site registration on the My India portal. Participants will also be introduced to various youth development initiatives by the organization. The campaign will be promoted nationwide through banners, stands, and digital publicity.

The program primarily targets youth aged 15-25 from rural, urban, and tribal communities. Participating institutions can later establish My India chapters to ensure ongoing engagement and support for future initiatives. All registrations and program-related activities will be conducted through the My India portal.

The Developed India Youth Connect Program reflects My India’s ongoing commitment to nurturing aware, responsible, and socially conscious young citizens. These youth will work towards transforming India into a developed nation by 2047 while also striving for a drug-free society.
