Mumbai, June 21: In preparation for the NEET re-examination, all 1,820 local train services in Mumbai, including 94 AC local services, will run on a regular schedule this Sunday.
There will be no mega block on any route of the Central Railway. Additionally, the reduced train schedule that usually applies on Sundays will be canceled. To ease passenger congestion and facilitate travel for students and their guardians, the Western Railway will operate five pairs of special trains on various routes.
To assist NEET candidates and their accompanying parents, help desks have been established at 13 stations in Mumbai. These desks will be staffed by 26 commercial personnel, along with Railway Protection Force (RPF) officers, 13 Deputy Station Superintendents (Commercial), and CMI personnel.
The stationed staff will provide information regarding exam centers, train connectivity, and further travel details. They will also assist passengers, manage crowds, ensure security, and disseminate essential information swiftly. Special attention will be given to facilitating candidate movement and minimizing inconvenience during the examination.
Moreover, considering the potential increase in passenger numbers, special trains are planned to run between Bandra Terminus–Maninagar and Bandra Terminus–Dr. Ambedkar Nagar. Importantly, all 1,414 suburban services on the Western Railway network will operate as scheduled on Sunday.
Additionally, adequate drinking water facilities will be ensured at all designated stations. Station staff have been instructed to maintain all water booths and vending points in good condition to provide safe drinking water to students and accompanying travelers. Field officers will monitor passenger movement, coordinate with station officials and other relevant departments, and ensure timely guidance and assistance during the examination period.
Regular public announcements and updates will be made to ensure the safe, organized, and smooth movement of NEET candidates and their parents.
