Modi and Netanyahu Share a Unified Stance Against Terrorism, Says Israeli PMO Spokesperson

Tel Aviv, March 7: David Menzar, spokesperson for the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership on Friday. He highlighted the friendship between Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, particularly their shared ‘zero-tolerance’ policy towards terrorism.

In an exclusive interview, Menzar recalled Modi’s recent successful two-day visit to Israel. During this visit, Modi delivered a historic address to the Knesset (Israeli Parliament), stating that 1.5 billion Indians stand with Israel in the fight against terrorist forces.

Menzar expressed pride in welcoming Modi alongside Netanyahu, noting the emotional atmosphere at the airport. “When Prime Minister Modi addressed our Knesset, it was hard to find anyone with dry eyes. His words, leadership, and understanding were truly impactful,” he remarked.

Both leaders agree that a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism is essential. Menzar emphasized that attempting to appease terrorists only leads to more conflict. “Terrorist states must be confronted and defeated. That is what we are doing,” he stated.

During his visit last week, Modi received a grand welcome at Tel Aviv Airport from Netanyahu and his wife, Sara. He addressed lawmakers and engaged in discussions with Netanyahu and Israeli President Isaac Herzog.

Menzar added, “Prime Minister Modi’s visit was very successful. I will never forget the moment he said ‘Am Yisrael Chai’ in our Knesset, meaning ‘the people of Israel live.'”

International media often attempts to portray Israel as isolated, which Menzar refuted, stating that Israel has strong partnerships with the U.S. and many other countries. Modi reiterated that 1.5 billion Indians stand with Israel in its fight against terrorism.

“Trying to appease terrorism only breeds more war. Both leaders, alongside President Trump, believe in ‘peace through strength.’ First comes strength, then peace, and we are witnessing this reality now,” Menzar noted.

In his Knesset address, Modi affirmed India’s unwavering support for Israel in the battle against terrorism. He expressed deep condolences for the lives lost in the brutal Hamas attacks on October 7, stating, “We feel your pain and share your sorrow. India stands firmly with Israel during this difficult time. The killing of civilians can never be justified, and terrorism cannot be legitimized in any form. India has long suffered from the scourge of terrorism.”
