Patna, August 13: In a swift operation, Patna police successfully located a missing tenth-grade student within just 36 hours of her disappearance. The minor had gone missing from the Khagaul area after leaving school. Upon receiving a report that she did not return home, the police promptly formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to address the situation.
On August 10, a resident of Khagaul reported that his niece, a tenth-grade student, had gone to school but failed to come back after classes. During the family’s search, her school uniform and bag were discovered near the railway tracks close to Danapur station.
The police team arrived at the scene and formally seized both items. A case was registered under Khagaul police station number 408/26. Given the seriousness of the case, the Senior Superintendent of Police in Patna ordered the immediate formation of an SIT, led by the Assistant Superintendent of Police from Danapur.
The Western Police Superintendent, S. Kumar, stated that the police utilized both technical and human intelligence to locate the student. During their investigation, they received information suggesting that the student might be in West Bengal. Consequently, a team was dispatched to the region. However, the student’s location was reportedly changing frequently. The police continued their efforts to track her whereabouts, ultimately locating her safely near Patna Junction.
During questioning, the police identified a suspect, named Vishal Kumar, believed to be from Asansol, who was last seen with the student. Authorities are now conducting raids at potential locations to apprehend Vishal Kumar. The investigation and subsequent actions are ongoing.
