
Noida, June 2: The Gautam Buddh Nagar police achieved a significant success in combating human trafficking and abduction by rescuing a minor girl abducted from West Bengal.
This operation was conducted under the direction of Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh and the supervision of the DCP in charge of women’s safety, in collaboration with the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit and Mission Mukti Foundation, Delhi.
According to police reports, on June 1, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit and Mission Mukti Foundation received information that a 15-year-old girl from West Bengal had been kidnapped and brought to the Noida area. A case was registered at the Harirampur police station in the South Dinajpur district of West Bengal under various sections.
Upon receiving the information, a joint team from the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, Mission Mukti Foundation, and West Bengal police initiated immediate action. During the investigation, the team arrived at the slums in the Itahda village, located in the Bisrakh area, and showed the girl’s photo to local residents for inquiries. The locals informed them that the girl was living with a man in the area and was working as a cleaner in a nearby society.
Based on this information, the police team promptly reached the relevant society, where they found the minor girl and the accused engaged in cleaning work. Following the guidelines of the Women’s Commission and adhering to legal procedures, the police successfully rescued the girl.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and handed over to the West Bengal police for further action. The West Bengal police will present the accused in court under transit remand. Meanwhile, the minor girl underwent a medical examination and was presented before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) of Gautam Buddh Nagar. After completing the necessary legal procedures, she was handed over to the custody of the West Bengal police.
