MasterChef India Winner Pankaj Bhadooria Battles Breast Cancer, Begins Chemotherapy

Mumbai, June 25: Renowned celebrity chef and the first winner of ‘MasterChef India,’ Pankaj Bhadooria, is currently battling a serious illness, breast cancer. She recently shared an update about her treatment with her fans. Pankaj revealed that she will undergo 12 sessions of chemotherapy followed by a year of targeted therapy.

In a video posted on her Instagram, Pankaj opened up about her treatment journey. She stated, “On May 29, I underwent surgery for breast cancer, and the operation was successful. Initially, the doctors informed me that I could return to work after four weeks of rest. However, the detailed biopsy report changed the course of my treatment.”

Pankaj further explained, “The report indicated that I am HER-2 positive. This means I will need to undergo 12 sessions of chemotherapy and a year of targeted therapy. When I first learned about the chemotherapy, I felt a bit scared mentally.”

She added, “Hearing the word ‘chemotherapy’ is not easy, but I have mentally prepared myself and decided to approach this entire process with a positive mindset. I will tackle this situation one day at a time. My spirit will not be broken. I am grateful for the love and support I have received from everyone.”

It is noteworthy that Pankaj first disclosed her cancer diagnosis on May 28, sharing a photo from the hospital and appealing for prayers and support from her followers.

Pankaj Bhadooria gained nationwide recognition after winning the first season of ‘MasterChef India’ in 2010. Following her victory, she became a popular celebrity chef. Before her culinary career, she worked as an English teacher for nearly 16 years.
