Mumbai: The ninth season of the popular television show MasterChef India has begun, with auditions currently underway. The show continues to showcase remarkable culinary talent from across the country.
A special contestant pair recently entered the stage, whose skills moved all three judges to don their aprons themselves. The atmosphere on set was emotional, with many eyes moist as the story behind the cooking touched the hearts of judges and viewers alike.
The latest promo of MasterChef India introduced Manisha, a contestant who faces both physical and mental challenges. At the age of 14, Manisha fell into a coma and due to heavy medication, developed secondary Parkinson’s disease. This condition causes muscle stiffness and involuntary shaking, making bodily control difficult.
However, when Manisha steps into the kitchen, cooking becomes her therapy. She manages to control her body and prepares exquisite dishes with dedication and effort. Her courage and determination brought tears to judges Ranveer Brar, Kunal Kapoor, and Vikas Khanna. After tasting her food, they awarded her the winner’s apron. Inspired by Manisha’s journey, Ranveer Brar even recited a poem in her honour.
Manisha shared in the promo that cooking helps her focus solely on enhancing flavours, which soothes her body and mind. This therapeutic process gives her strength beyond her physical limitations.
The show is airing on Sony TV since 5 January, and the next round, called ‘Agnipariksha’, is scheduled soon. This season’s theme celebrates Indian traditional cuisine with innovative twists, as contestants experiment with desi flavours and cooking styles.
