
Imphal, May 7: The Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, emphasized that true strength lies in the wise and restrained use of force. He noted that the conduct of security forces has strengthened public trust in the state.
Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh also commended the crucial role of security forces in maintaining law and order and restoring peace in Manipur.
Both leaders attended the ‘Governor Unit Citation 2026’ award ceremony held at the Manipur State Film Development Society in Imphal.
In his address, Governor Bhalla described the event as more than a formal occasion; it was a moment of gratitude and respect. He praised the courage, dedication, and service of armed forces and security personnel who have consistently contributed to maintaining peace in the state.
He stated that during the challenging circumstances in Manipur over the past few years, security forces have stood as a strong pillar, working under difficult conditions. Their efforts have helped restore law and order and instill a sense of security among the people.
The Governor also acknowledged the support and sacrifices of the families of security personnel, highlighting their significant contributions. He noted that the ‘Governor Unit Citation’ recognizes collective excellence, teamwork, discipline, and dedication.
Bhalla stressed the need for better coordination between security forces and civil administration and congratulated all honored units.
The Chief Minister also praised both central and state security forces for their vital role in ensuring the safety of various communities and providing humanitarian assistance. He mentioned that the government relies on public cooperation to strengthen peace and harmony.
The event was attended by MPs, MLAs, and senior administrative, military, and police officials. Several units, including the Army, Assam Rifles, CRPF, BSF, BRTF, and Manipur Police, were awarded the ‘Governor Unit Citation 2026’ for their outstanding service.
