Malda Incident Poses Major Challenge to Democracy, Says Sukanta Majumdar

Jalpaiguri, April 5: Central Minister Sukanta Majumdar has stated that the recent incident in Malda represents a significant challenge to the country’s democracy. He emphasized that the Election Commission must address this situation with strict measures.

Majumdar suggested that a larger conspiracy might be at play and called for a thorough investigation. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is currently looking into the matter. He urged that the public should be informed about the underlying motives behind the incident.

Targeting Mamata Banerjee, he accused her of being cunning in her political maneuvers. “The people of the country are aware, and the Election Commission and the courts understand what Mamata Banerjee is capable of. The involvement of Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in this incident will be revealed once the investigation is complete,” he stated.

BJP leader CP Singh commented on the incident involving judicial officials in Malda, asserting that there is no effective government in West Bengal, only violence. He claimed that, under Mamata Banerjee’s direction, a particular community had taken judicial officials hostage. The Supreme Court has taken this matter seriously, and arrests have already been made.

BJP MP and former Chief Minister of Tripura, Biplab Deb, criticized Mamata Banerjee, alleging that she runs a family business and does not want people to participate in elections. He noted that the Election Commission is ensuring that citizens come out to vote.

Bihar Government Minister Dilip Jaiswal condemned the TMC government over the Malda incident. He pointed out that Malda has long been considered a hub for Bangladeshi infiltration. Jaiswal described the violence in Malda as condemnable and labeled it as a center for anti-national activities. He highlighted the visible thuggery of TMC workers.
