Major Police Operation in Dwarka: Seven Juvenile Offenders Arrested for Motorcycle Theft

New Delhi, March 26: The Special Staff team of the Delhi Police has apprehended a group of seven juvenile offenders involved in motorcycle thefts in Dwarka. Three stolen motorcycles were also recovered during the operation.

The incident occurred on March 15 at approximately 1:50 PM. The complainant, Nikhil, a resident of Laxmi Vihar in Mohan Garden, was riding a TVS Raider motorcycle with his nephew when they stopped at the Kakrola drain service road to refuel. Shortly after entering the area, four unidentified youths threatened them with a knife, assaulted them, and stole their motorcycle along with ₹2000 in cash. A case was registered at the Dwarka North police station based on this complaint.

Considering the seriousness of the crime, DCP Kushal Pal Singh formed a Special Staff team. Led by Inspector Kamlesh Kumar, the team visited the crime scene and met with the complainant. Initial investigations included analyzing CCTV footage, but no solid leads were found. The team then tracked routes both behind and ahead of the crime scene, scrutinizing over 500 CCTV recordings within a 10-kilometer radius. With the help of local sources, six minors were detained, and the stolen motorcycles were recovered. During the investigation, another juvenile offender was caught, leading to the recovery of a third stolen motorcycle.

Interrogation revealed that the motive behind the thefts and robberies was to sell the motorcycles for money to celebrate a fellow juvenile offender’s birthday at a hill station.

Three FIRs have been filed in this case, and the police have taken action under the relevant sections. The investigation is ongoing.
