Beijing, May 12: On May 11, a press conference was held in Beijing to discuss the main venue for the International Museum Day 2026 in China.

This year’s main event will be hosted by China’s National Cultural Heritage Administration in collaboration with the local government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

The central program is scheduled for May 18 at the Inner Mongolia Museum, themed “Museums: Bridges Connecting the World.” It will showcase the latest achievements in museum development during China’s 14th Five-Year Plan and aim to strengthen the relationship between museums and the public.

The opening ceremony at the main venue will feature several significant announcements, including the results of the selection of the top ten museum exhibitions across the country and the achievements of the “Electricity + Cultural Relics” volunteer service team focused on cultural relic preservation.

Additionally, a variety of exciting, high-quality theme-based exhibitions and activities will be organized to meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the public at the main venue.
