Mumbai, April 23: MAINGEAR has launched an updated version of its MG-1 gaming desktop, featuring a complete chassis redesign and enhanced hardware options. The focus of these changes is on airflow, internal layout, and customization, while maintaining a mid-tower footprint similar to the original model.
The new MG-1 can be configured with powerful options, including the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition or the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K. For graphics, customers can select up to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 or the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT. The system supports up to 128GB of DDR5 memory at 6000MHz and accommodates up to six M.2 NVMe SSDs. Connectivity features include up to 10Gb LAN, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. The front panel is equipped with a USB-A 5Gbps port, a USB-C 20Gbps port, and a 3.5mm combo jack.
A standout feature of this launch is the new Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 processor. It utilizes dual 3D V-Cache across both chiplets, resulting in a total L3 cache of 192MB. This chip boasts 16 cores and 32 threads, and unlike previous 3D V-Cache models, it supports overclocking. MAINGEAR pairs it with a top-mounted 360mm AIO cooler to manage temperatures during extended gaming sessions.
Inside the case, MAINGEAR employs its MG-RC reverse connector system with compatible motherboards like MSI Project Zero. This design routes cables behind the motherboard, keeping the main chamber tidy and improving airflow. Even with standard boards, cable management is handled effectively.
Cooling has also been enhanced. The system features three 140mm intake fans, a large front intake, and a bottom air scoop that directs cool air straight to the GPU. Heat from the CPU is expelled through the top-mounted radiator. MAINGEAR claims this configuration outperforms an open-air bench in their testing.
Additionally, the system includes fully diffused RGB lighting across the front panel, an internal light bar, and fans, all controllable via motherboard software. The front panel has been redesigned for easier swapping, featuring stronger magnets and support for custom designs.
The MG-1 starts at $1,999 and is available in both pre-built and custom configurations.
