Nashik, May 23: The Nashik police in Maharashtra have filed a comprehensive 1,500-page charge sheet against the accused in a sexual harassment case involving Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) at its Nashik BPO unit.
An official statement from Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik’s team revealed that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) uncovered evidence of the victim’s forced religious conversion, which has hurt religious sentiments.
Authorities have also seized original documents used by the accused to change the victim’s name and identity. Digital and technical evidence, including screenshots of WhatsApp chats from the victim and the accused’s phones, has been collected.
The charge sheet names individuals including Danish Ejaz Sheikh, Tausif Bilal Attar, Nida Ejaz Khan, and Mateen Majid Patel. Consequently, none of them have been granted bail. The extensive charge sheet has been filed in the Additional Sessions and Special Court located in Nashik Road, under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
This charge sheet is the first to be filed following the investigation into allegations of rape and the infringement of religious sentiments registered at the Deolali police station in Nashik. Additionally, there are eight other FIRs filed by TCS employees at the Mumbai Naka police station.
