Madhya Pradesh Government Embraces Vikramadityas Ideals, Says CM Mohan Yadav

Bhopal, March 19: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav extended greetings for the Hindu New Year, stating that the state government is striving to embody the ideals of King Vikramaditya.

While addressing the Koti Surya Upasana event during Vikramotsav-2026 at Ravindra Bhavan in the capital, CM Yadav noted that today marks Gudi Padwa. He expressed that sweetness akin to jaggery has spread throughout creation, as this day marks the beginning of the new year in Indian culture.

He explained that in our tradition, the new year commences with the creation, in harmony with nature, and through the efforts of the ruler. Emperor Vikramaditya defeated the Shakas and quelled the anarchic elements and invaders of his time. He liberated his entire populace from debt and laid the foundation for true social harmony. Vikramaditya was a champion of democracy. The Vikram Samvat, initiated by his efforts, is now entering its 2083rd year.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the government is committed to adopting the valor, courage, and justice exemplified by Emperor Vikramaditya. They are dedicated to the holistic development of every section of society. Initiatives such as the Veer Vikramaditya Research Center and the establishment of a Vedic clock have been launched.

During the event, CM Yadav also inaugurated the Brahm Dhwaj, stating that this flag inspires unity in serving the nation and the state. He remarked that Vikramaditya transformed governance into a democratic system. His leadership style motivated subsequent rulers to adopt welfare-oriented governance. The continued remembrance of Vikramaditya after two millennia reflects a desire among the governments of India and the state to integrate his governance principles.

He concluded by highlighting that Indian society is spontaneous and disciplined. We have always learned to live by the ethos of “live and let live.” Vikramaditya promoted democracy, which now flows through our veins like blood, becoming a defining aspect of our existence.
