Light Rain and Snow Expected in Jammu and Kashmir Until March 20

Srinagar, March 19: Light rain is currently falling in several areas of Jammu and Kashmir, keeping the weather cool. The Meteorological Department has indicated that the weather is likely to remain unstable in the Kashmir Valley for the next two days due to ongoing western disturbances.

According to the department, over March 19 and 20, the region will generally be cloudy, with intermittent light to moderate rain and snowfall expected in various locations. Moderate to heavy snowfall may occur in some higher areas of the Chenab Valley and southern Kashmir.

From March 21 to 25, the weather is expected to be predominantly dry. However, from March 26 to 28, the region will again see cloud cover, with sporadic light rain and snowfall (in higher altitudes) possible.

The Meteorological Department has issued an advisory for the public and tourists. Travelers and residents planning to visit higher areas and significant passes are advised to prepare according to the weather conditions on March 19 and 20.

The department has also predicted the possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds (40-50 km/h) in some areas during this period, along with the chance of hail in isolated locations. Farmers have been advised to postpone all agricultural activities.

In Ramban, continuous rain over the past two days has led to a drop in temperature. Similarly, Baramulla has experienced consistent light rain, contributing to lower temperatures. Rain is expected to continue in Baramulla throughout the afternoon, with fog lingering in the sky and light, variable winds. The likelihood of rain is at 100%.

In the Delhi-NCR region, the weather changed suddenly on Wednesday, bringing strong winds and light rain. Light rain was also reported in several areas on Thursday morning.
