According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Prince Alois’s trip is expected to give new momentum to the bilateral ties. His arrival in New Delhi follows a visit to Vadodara and marks an important step in the growing cooperation between the two nations.

Minister Singh expressed his enthusiasm for enhancing the friendly relations and cooperation established during their previous meeting in Davos.

Prince Alois had arrived in Mumbai on Sunday, accompanied by his wife, Princess Sofia, and a high-level delegation of senior officials and business leaders.

The MEA noted that the relationship between India and Liechtenstein is based on shared values and mutual respect. This marks Prince Alois’s second visit to India in 2026; he previously attended the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi in February and has made visits in 2010 and 2018.

On Tuesday, Prince Alois will receive a formal welcome at the Presidential Palace. He will pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat and meet with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. Later that day, he is scheduled to have discussions with Prime Minister Modi at Hyderabad House, focusing on areas such as trade, investment, science, technology, innovation, and enhancing people-to-people connections. They will also exchange views on regional and global issues.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary will also meet with Prince Alois on Tuesday. Following these meetings, he will meet with President Droupadi Murmu, who will host a state banquet in his honor.

It provides an opportunity for both countries to expand partnerships in new areas and deepen their friendly relations.
