Jaipur, 9 December (Daily Kiran) – A leopard cub wandered into Malviya Nagar’s MNIT engineering college, creating panic among thousands of students and staff. The young leopard entered the campus and roamed inside the theatre complex for about an hour on Tuesday while over a thousand students and staff were present in the area.
Responding promptly, the forest department team arrived at the scene and safely rescued the leopard cub.
Jhalana forest area ranger Jitendra Singh Shekhawat informed that the cub entered MNIT college campus on Tuesday morning. Security personnel and staff were the first to spot the animal, and the news quickly spread across the campus, causing a tense atmosphere. More than a thousand students and staff stayed quiet and alert during the incident. Dr. Arvind Mathur from the forest department tranquilised the cub to safely capture it. The rescue team included Assistant Forest Officer Krishna Kumar Meena and Rajkishore Yogi.
The leopard cub’s unexpected appearance also delayed the inauguration of the book exhibition scheduled for Tuesday morning at the VLTC campus. The event started only after the animal was secured and removed from the campus.
