
New Delhi, February 27: On the death anniversary of social reformer and esteemed national worker Nanaji Deshmukh, several prominent leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, paid their respects. Amit Shah recalled Nanaji Deshmukh’s dedication to national service and social welfare.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Amit Shah wrote, “From the Sangh to the Janata Party and BJP, the Bharat Ratna Nanaji Deshmukh dedicated his life to national service and social welfare. He made Gramodaya his life’s mission and was a lifelong guide for education based on Indian values. I pay my respects to Nanaji Deshmukh on his death anniversary.”
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari referred to Nanaji Deshmukh as a ‘Rashtrishi’ in his post on ‘X’, stating, “Nanaji Deshmukh’s entire life was devoted to the service of the nation and public welfare. His ascetic life serves as an inspiration for all workers. On the death anniversary of the true devotee of humanity, Bharat Ratna Nanaji Deshmukh, I offer my heartfelt homage.”
Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed, “On the death anniversary of the architect of ‘Gramodaya to Rashtroday’, the visionary nationalist thinker, Bharat Ratna, and Rashtrishi, I pay my respects. Numerous ongoing schemes for empowering rural India are a living testament to his national service. Let us contribute to the reconstruction of India by following the path he laid.”
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also paid tribute, stating, “On the death anniversary of Nanaji Deshmukh, a founding member of the Janata Party and Rashtrishi, I offer my humble respects. His commitment to Antyodaya and Gramodaya established an enduring tradition of service, sacrifice, and nation-building that will always guide us.”
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also remembered Nanaji Deshmukh, stating, “Nanaji Deshmukh, who implemented the concept of ‘Gramodaya to Rashtroday’, made rural self-reliance, social organization, and value-based development the foundation of nation-building. His contributions as a social worker and thinker provide a lasting direction for India’s development vision.”
He added, “His life, characterized by the defense of democracy, dedication to service, and selfless action, is an inspiring example of a strong village and a strong nation. I bow in humility on his death anniversary.”
