Patna, October 12 (Daily Kiran) — Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, and Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav left for Delhi on Sunday ahead of the crucial court verdict in the land-for-jobs case, scheduled for October 13.

The special CBI court at Rouse Avenue, Delhi, had completed the hearing in the case on August 25, 2025, and reserved its judgment after examining all arguments and evidence presented by both sides. The court is expected to pronounce its verdict on Monday (October 13).

The case pertains to the period between 2004 and 2009, when Lalu Prasad Yadav served as the Railway Minister. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has alleged that during this time, several appointments were made to Group D positions in the West Central Railway (Jabalpur Zone) in exchange for land parcels transferred to Lalu’s family members and associates.

The CBI registered the case on May 18, 2022, against Lalu Prasad, Rabri Devi, their daughters, and several others for alleged irregularities in the recruitment process.

Before departing for Delhi, Tejashwi Yadav spoke to reporters at Patna Airport, where he defended his recent promise of government jobs for every family without one, saying, “The ruling party is upset with my announcement, but I will fulfill my commitment. Every family without a government job will get one.”

He added, “When our government was in power, we provided lakhs of government jobs to Bihar’s unemployed youth. People know who truly works for them.”

When asked about the trip to Delhi, Tejashwi said briefly, “The court has summoned us, so we are going.”
