Kuwait, March 6: Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, 67 personnel from Kuwait’s armed forces have been injured. This information was disclosed by the Ministry of Defense during a briefing at the government communication center on Friday.
Official spokesperson Saud Al-Attawan stated that the injured individuals are currently receiving treatment in the hospital, and their conditions are stable. He added that two individuals remain under medical observation.
According to reports from the Xinhua news agency, Al-Attawan emphasized that the Kuwaiti Armed Forces are fully prepared and are monitoring developments in collaboration with military and security authorities, as well as other government institutions, around the clock.
He noted that these measures are part of a larger national system aimed at safeguarding the country’s security and ensuring the safety of its citizens and residents.
The military spokesperson also mentioned that Kuwait’s defense system has successfully detected and dealt with 212 ballistic missiles and 394 drones targeting the country’s airspace over the past few days.
Iranian officials reported that on Saturday, Israel and the United States launched coordinated attacks on Tehran and several other Iranian cities. These assaults resulted in the deaths of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, members of his family, high-ranking military commanders, and civilians. In retaliation, Iran has conducted missile and drone strikes targeting Israeli and American assets in the Middle East.
Earlier, on March 2, Qatar shot down two Iranian SU-24 military aircraft and intercepted several missiles and drones. Officials from Qatar’s Ministry of Defense described this as a coordinated attack.
The ministry stated that the air defense systems, working alongside the Qatari Air Force and Navy, intercepted seven ballistic missiles and five drones during the assault. All missiles were destroyed before reaching their targets, preventing potential casualties.
Qatar’s Ministry of Defense affirmed that the Qatari Armed Forces possess the full capability and resources to defend the nation’s sovereignty and the region, responding decisively to any external threats.
In a joint statement, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, and the United States condemned the attacks targeting the UAE, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq, including the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
