Munich, April 15: Michael Olise is having an outstanding season, with 17 goals and 29 assists in 42 matches for FC Bayern Munich.
As Bayern prepares for their Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid, head coach Vincent Kompany expressed confidence in the 24-year-old French winger’s potential to become one of the world’s best players if he maintains his current form.
“We see him every day, and he performs at the highest level in the Champions League. He’ll surely be one of the best in the world one day,” Kompany stated during a press conference on Tuesday.
“He’s on the right track now. Everything he does is right. His current level is among the best in Europe. However, if I claim he’s the best now, people will question how many titles he’s won. He needs to continue his progress as he has over the past 18 months. If he keeps this up, we’ll see what he becomes.”
With a 2-1 lead from the first leg at the Bernabeu, Bayern hopes Olise will deliver another exceptional performance against Real Madrid on Wednesday.
