New Delhi, April 19: In the IPL 2026, two matches took place on Saturday. The afternoon match featured Delhi Capitals (DC) against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), while the evening match saw Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) face Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Former Indian cricketers Ravichandran Ashwin and Cheteshwar Pujara discussed CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and DC batsman David Miller.
Speaking on JioHotstar’s ‘Google Search AI Mode Match Center Live’, JioStar expert Ravichandran Ashwin noted that CSK’s captain Ruturaj Gaikwad appeared to be under significant pressure.
Ashwin remarked, “This was the best opportunity for him to score runs. Given how Ayush Mhatre started, he didn’t need to take risks or score quickly. They were progressing well during the powerplay. This was the right moment for Ruturaj to take his time, score some runs, and regain form. After Ayush Mhatre’s wicket, Ruturaj faced a very good delivery; it’s not easy to beat him on the pull. I just feel he is under a lot of pressure, and his mind seems a bit tangled.”
In the match against SRH, Gaikwad opened the innings for CSK but was dismissed for 19 runs off 13 balls.
On the same JioHotstar segment, expert Cheteshwar Pujara praised David Miller’s performance in the earlier match against RCB.
Pujara stated, “DC was under pressure. The first six against Shepherd changed everything. When you need a big over at the end, that first six is crucial, and then things became a bit easier. David Miller was under pressure because he couldn’t cross the finish line in a previous match, even though he got very close. Doubts can creep in, but he is a very experienced batsman, in good form, and Tristan Stubbs was also there. He was confident about scoring runs in the last over because he knew RCB would have to use their sixth bowler at the end. They were waiting for it and ultimately finished the game.”
In the final over, DC needed 15 runs to win. David Miller hit two consecutive sixes and a four off Romario Shepherd, leading his team to victory. DC required 176 runs to win, and Miller returned unbeaten with 22 runs off 10 balls.
