Thiruvananthapuram, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : Kombans FC held an event at the Kanakakunnu Palace in Thiruvananthapuram on September 20, where they unveiled their official jersey and team for the upcoming third season of the Super League Kerala (SLK). The ceremony featured Kerala’s Transportation Minister C.P. John, who presented the jersey to an enthusiastic crowd of fans and officials from the Adani-sponsored club.
During the event, Minister John praised Kombans FC’s growing reputation in Kerala football. He expressed confidence that the club’s diverse, multinational squad would elevate the competitive standard of the league.
The 26-member team was introduced to fans for the first time, showcasing a truly international lineup. This season, Kombans FC includes six foreign professional players from Brazil, Ghana, Colombia, and Angola, alongside a strong core of talented local players, particularly from Thiruvananthapuram. This blend aims to highlight both international experience and local talent.
The event also featured a formal introduction of the club’s technical team to fans and media. Leading the dugout for Season 3 will be Scottish head coach Ian Gillan, who previously led Calicut FC to a championship in Season 1. He will be joined by assistant coach Sanush Raj T., with Abhilash V.S. serving as the team manager.
Kombans FC will kick off their Season 3 campaign with an away match against Calicut FC on September 26. Their first home match is scheduled for October 4, where they will host the reigning champions, Kannur FC, at the Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.
