Tejashwi Yadav Defends Kharge Amid Political Controversy
Tejashwi Yadav criticizes political responses to Kharges remarks, emphasizing government inaction on critical issues in Bihar.

Patna, October 26 (Daily Kiran) : Political tensions have escalated following Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s controversial remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In response, leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are demanding an apology from Kharge. Bihar’s Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, has dismissed the uproar as an exaggeration.
Speaking to the media in Patna, Yadav stated that a minor issue was being blown out of proportion. He criticized the government for neglecting vital areas such as education, healthcare, employment, and irrigation. According to Yadav, the administration is failing to address the pressing problems faced by the people of Bihar, with rising crime and corruption going unchecked. He argued that since the current government took office, no significant progress has been made.
Regarding the actions taken against Mokama MLA Anant Singh, Yadav noted that during a recent confidence vote, three of their party members—Neelam Devi, Anand Mohan’s son, and Prahlad Yadav—supported the government. Yadav had warned them that their support would have consequences. Today, he claims, Anand Mohan is facing difficulties, and Prahlad Yadav was denied a ticket. He pointed out that Anant Singh’s situation serves as an example of the fallout from their betrayal. Yadav had previously predicted that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was in a precarious position, and he believes this is now evident. He asserted that the Janata Dal (United) party is on the verge of collapse.
Yadav characterized the “double-engine” government as deceptive, accusing those in power of misleading the public.
In contrast, Congress leader Danish Ali defended Kharge, urging that the full context of Kharge’s statement be understood. He emphasized that anyone involved in electoral fraud should face consequences under the law. Ali stressed the importance of protecting democracy through Rahul Gandhi’s leadership in combating vote theft.
Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress MP Sougata Roy supported Kharge, asserting that he had done nothing wrong. Roy highlighted Kharge’s seniority and age, suggesting that his comments were misinterpreted during a meeting.
