Kiren Rijiju Praises PM Modi as a Rare Leader, Highlights His Legacy

New Delhi, June 10: Central Minister Kiren Rijiju paid homage at a Buddhist temple on Lodhi Road to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s record tenure as India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister. He remarked that Modi’s life serves as an example, dedicated not to personal gain but to the nation.
Speaking to a news agency, Rijiju stated, “Today is historic. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed 4,399 days in office as an elected leader. Completing the longest term is a significant achievement for him.”
He emphasized, “The remarkable aspect is that while many have served as Prime Minister, under Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has taken its first steps towards becoming a ‘developed nation.’ When we gained independence, India was impoverished. For years, we remained a poor nation. When Modi became Prime Minister in 2014, he set a vision for India to aim high. His goal of a ‘developed India’ has led to initiatives aimed at making India a fully developed nation by 2047.”
Rijiju expressed, “Leaders like Narendra Modi are rare, appearing only once in centuries. Such personalities do not come around often. We pray for his health and longevity. Modi lives not for himself but for the country and society. His life is a testament to dedication to the nation.”
The minister also shared his experience working with PM Modi. He noted, “In the 21st century, negative forces are prevalent. Many are intent on tarnishing good work. Despite this, PM Modi has inspired us to work with pure thoughts and faith. He has directed us to continue our efforts for the nation.”
When asked about comparisons with other leaders, Rijiju remarked, “It is not appropriate to compare Prime Minister Narendra Modi with anyone else. When Jawaharlal Nehru became Prime Minister, he was not elected; he was chosen by Mahatma Gandhi. He was not directly elected as Prime Minister.”
He added, “In the early years of independence, there was a strong wave in favor of Congress, and people continued to vote for them. At that time, Congress faced little opposition. The question remains why the country did not become a ‘developed nation.’ Congress and a particular family gained prominence, but the country did not progress.”
Rijiju further stated, “I believe comparisons should not be made, as after Narendra Modi became Prime Minister in 2014, the goal of a ‘developed India’ was set, and work commenced. We are nearing that milestone. History will forever record that the first step towards a ‘developed India’ was taken during Modi’s tenure. His work and vision have transformed India into a ‘developed nation.’ This is undeniable, as it reflects the reality.”
Additionally, Kiren Rijiju highlighted the government’s achievements over the past 12 years. He noted, “The country’s condition has changed significantly in 12 years. Connectivity has improved. Roads and highways have been built in border areas. Electricity and water are reaching every home. Gas connections have been provided to households. People are receiving free rations. Numerous airports have been constructed in states. The railway infrastructure has been strengthened. All these developments have occurred in the last 12 years.”
