New Delhi, June 10: A court in New Delhi has sentenced two individuals for a theft case involving water motors, just 29 days after the incident was reported. Remarkably, the verdict came only six days into the trial and 11 days after the arrests were made.
The theft occurred on May 12, 2026, when two water motors were stolen from a residence in the Raj Nagar-2 area. The investigation was led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Nityanand from the Palam Village police station. Through local inquiries, technical analysis, and other evidence, he successfully identified the suspects.
On May 30, 2026, the police arrested two suspects: Prince, a resident of Bharat Vihar, and Gautam alias Shankar, from Mahavir Enclave Part-3, New Delhi. During questioning, both admitted their involvement in the theft. Following their confessions, the police recovered one stolen motor, tools used in the crime, and the scooter employed to commit the offense.
According to the police, the investigation was bolstered by strong technical and scientific evidence, including CCTV footage, recovery of stolen items, seized tools, and other documentary proof. Based on this solid evidence, a comprehensive charge sheet was filed in court on June 4, 2026.
The case was heard in the Dwarka Court by First Class Judicial Magistrate Saurabh Goyal. The prosecution, represented by Additional Public Prosecutors Vikas Kharb and Sudhanshu Saini, effectively presented the case, leading to the conviction of both defendants on June 9, 2026.
The successful resolution of this case was overseen by Inspector Sudhir Kumar Gulia, the SHO of Palam Village police station, and ACP Anil Kumar from Delhi Cantt. Notably, Naib Court ASI Navratna also played a crucial role in the investigation and prosecution process.
