Jaipur, 6 December (Daily Kiran) – Former minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas is set to take to the streets to demand justice for the workers of Jaipur Metal Factory. He announced that on Sunday at 11 am, he will lead a march on foot from his residence to Jaipur Metal Factory on Station Road, where he will stage a sit-in protest for half an hour.
Khachariyawas accused the Rajasthan government of betraying the factory workers by denying them their rightful benefits. He alleged that the government is colluding with a private company and neglecting the workers’ interests.
He further charged that the government is forcing workers into hardship and claimed that the state officials have accepted large sums of money from the private company. Khachariyawas challenged the government to prove its innocence by taking up the workers’ cause in the Supreme Court. He demanded compensation of fifteen lakh rupees for each worker.
He said, “If the government does not support the workers, it will be clear that it is also involved in this corruption. Whether the government stands with the workers or not, I am with them and will strive to secure justice till the very end.”
The workers of Jaipur Metal Factory have long been demanding their rights and pending dues. Khachariyawas’ decision to take the issue to the streets has intensified the matter further.
