Kakatiya Knights Dominate Mighty Maratha 6-0 in APL Season 2 Finale
Kakatiya Knights secured a 6-0 victory over Mighty Maratha, concluding the league phase of APL Season 2 in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad, October 17 (Daily Kiran) : The Kakatiya Knights achieved a stunning 6-0 victory against the Mighty Maratha in the Archery Premier League (APL) Season 2 on Saturday, October 17, in Hyderabad. This win allowed the Knights to finish their round-robin campaign on a high note.
Both teams had already secured their spots in the top two, making the match more of a ‘dress rehearsal’ for the upcoming first qualifier scheduled for Sunday.
Playing at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road, the Knights showcased exceptional skills, with star archers Nico Wiener and Jyoti Surekha Vennam both scoring a perfect 60 out of 60, despite challenging windy conditions.
The Maratha team opted to rest their star recurver, Dheeraj Bommadevara, at the start. Struggling to find their rhythm, they scored below 70 in the first two sets. However, Dheeraj and Alejandra Valencia improved their performance in the third set, achieving a score of 74. Unfortunately for them, the Knights excelled with a remarkable score of 78, sealing their victory.
This win sets the stage for a rematch against the Mighty Maratha on Sunday, where the teams will compete to determine the first finalist of the season.
The match will kick off with a rematch between the Kakatiya Knights and Mighty Maratha, deciding who will advance to the finals. The losing team will face the winner of ‘Eliminator 1’ later that night, leading up to the season’s grand finale.
The Archery Premier League is the world’s first franchise-based archery league, initiated by the Archery Association of India (AAI). It features six teams and a total of 48 archers, comprising 36 Indian and 12 top international players.
