Kajol Expresses Desire to Be Sridevis Student, Calls for Acting School

Mumbai, August 23: In the world of Hindi cinema, certain actresses leave a lasting impact on future generations of artists. Sridevi was one such iconic figure. Many Bollywood actresses, including Kajol, regard her as a significant source of inspiration. In a recent interview, Kajol revealed that she was so influenced by Sridevi’s performances that she wished the legendary actress would open an acting school, where she would be the first student.

Kajol shared this intriguing thought during her appearance on Anupam Kher’s popular talk show, “The Anupam Kher Show.” When asked about her favorite actresses before entering the film industry, Kajol mentioned that she didn’t have a particular favorite when she was very young. However, as she grew older, she became increasingly enamored with Sridevi’s acting.

“Sridevi was a phenomenal actress. I always told her that she should open an acting school. If that happened, I would want to be the first student and learn so much from her,” Kajol stated.

Kajol highlighted Sridevi’s remarkable ability to transform into her characters. She noted, “Sridevi completely immersed herself in the roles she portrayed. Viewers would forget they were watching an actress; they would only see the character she was embodying. This quality set Sridevi apart from her contemporaries.”

Citing films like “Chandni,” “ChaalBaaz,” “Sadma,” and “Lamhe,” Kajol emphasized that Sridevi’s characters were distinctly different from one another, yet she made each role entirely believable.

Kajol further remarked, “While there was a hint of her personality in Sridevi’s characters, she never overshadowed the role. This is the hallmark of a true actor. Her performance in ‘Khuda Gawah’ was outstanding. Her eyes never revealed her age. She always radiated enthusiasm for life and had an insatiable desire to try new things. It felt like no matter how much she had accomplished, there was still so much more she wanted to achieve.”

Sridevi passed away on February 24, 2018, at the age of 54. Her tragic death occurred due to an accidental drowning in a hotel bathtub during a family function in Dubai, leaving the entire film industry in shock.
