Jyotiraditya Scindia Hails Budget as Key to Fulfilling Developed India Vision

New Delhi: Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia described the Union Budget as historic and said it will help fulfil the vision of a developed India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

In a conversation, Scindia said the budget organises India’s journey of the past 12 years and lays the foundation for future growth. He highlighted that last year’s economic growth rate was around 7.5%, making India the fastest-growing economy in the world and the fourth largest globally. Inflation remained at a record low of 1.7% over the past nine months, a notable achievement for both India and the world.

The minister stated that the budget will boost strong growth in infrastructure and agriculture while building a new future. Key sectors such as the audio-visual gaming industry, artificial intelligence, and tourism have received focused attention. Scindia termed it a budget for all sectors of the Indian economy and every citizen, reflecting the principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’.

He noted special emphasis on the telecom sector and the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region. The budget allocates 4,000 buses to support urbanisation and includes plans for new hospitals in the health sector. Scindia expressed hope that India will harness its growth potential to advance the Prime Minister’s vision further.

On income tax, Scindia said a historic change has been made, as tax exemption has been increased to income up to ₹12 lakh, compared to the earlier ₹2 lakh during the Congress regime. He called this zero-percent tax provision a revolutionary step that will benefit millions.

Regarding the high-speed rail corridor, the minister noted it will accelerate economic growth. He described the week as significant, marked by the Republic Day celebrations and the India-European Union trade deal agreement, calling it a historic achievement under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.

Scindia also referred to the economic survey results as strong signals of building a powerful India. He said India is advancing firmly on all four pillars — roots, centre, capital, business, and international presence. Under PM Modi’s leadership, the commitment to a developed India will certainly be realised.
