July 20 Panchang: Worship of Lord Shiva and Kartikeya Considered Auspicious

New Delhi, July 19: The Panchang holds significant importance in Hinduism. Before undertaking any auspicious activities, travels, investments, or rituals, consulting the Panchang is essential. It is based on the Hindu calendar, which relies on the positions of the sun, moon, and other celestial bodies.

On July 20, 2026 (Monday), the Shukla Paksha Saptami Tithi will last until 4:03 AM. Following this, the Ashtami Tithi will commence. It is highly auspicious to worship Lord Shiva and Kartikeya on this day.

Sunrise will occur at 5:56 AM, and sunset will be at 7:10 PM. The moon will rise at 11:34 AM and set at 11:19 PM. According to the Panchang, on July 20, 2026, the sun will enter the Pushya Nakshatra, while the moon will remain in the Hasta Nakshatra until approximately 6:39 or 7:09 PM, after which it will transition to the Chitra Nakshatra.

On this day, the Harshan Yoga will not be effective. The Shiv Yoga will be in effect until 6:37 PM, followed by the Siddhi Yoga. The Abhijit Muhurat, considered the most auspicious time of the day, will be from 12:06 PM to 12:59 PM. During this period, important tasks, rituals, or business ventures can be initiated without concern for Rahu Kaal or other inauspicious times.

Rahu Kaal will be observed from 7:18 AM to 9:01 AM, while Gulika Kaal will occur from 2:10 PM to 3:53 PM. Yamgand Kaal will be from 10:24 AM to 12:05 PM. Traditional beliefs advise against starting new endeavors during these times, as they are considered inauspicious.

On July 20 (Monday), the sun will transit into Cancer, while the moon will primarily move through Virgo. The direction of travel will face directional obstacles in the east. According to astrology and Vastu, it is advisable to avoid traveling in this direction. If travel is unavoidable, specific astrological remedies should be adopted before departure.
