New Delhi, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : Central Health Minister JP Nadda marked World Patient Safety Day 2026 with a visit to the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences (ABVIMS) and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital in New Delhi. During his visit, he reaffirmed the collective commitment to safe, clean, and patient-centered healthcare.
In a post on social media platform X, Nadda stated, “On World Patient Safety Day 2026, I visited ABVIMS and RML Hospital in New Delhi. We reiterated our commitment to safe, clean, and patient-centered healthcare.”
At this event, he launched the “Quality and Safety Handbook – A Guide to Policies, Protocols, and Patient Safety.” This handbook serves as a vital resource for enhancing quality, safety, and standardized procedures in healthcare delivery. The Minister highlighted that it will aid doctors and healthcare workers in adhering to established protocols for patient safety.
He emphasized that this initiative reflects the spirit of “Cleanliness is Service.” Nadda remarked, “Cleanliness, proper waste management, and robust infection control measures are essential for patient safety. A clean hospital is a safe hospital, and maintaining these standards is a collective responsibility of the entire healthcare system.”
The Minister also referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public service and mentioned the “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.” He noted, “Inspired by the dedicated public service of Prime Minister Modi over 25 years, let us allow the spirit of ‘service’ to motivate us towards greater responsibility, compassion, and collective efforts.”
Nadda asserted that the spirit of service is crucial for strengthening healthcare institutions and ensuring safe, respectful, and quality care for every patient. During his visit, he inspected the hospital wards, interacted with patients, and reviewed cleanliness arrangements. He instructed the hospital administration to ensure that patient safety standards are never compromised.
