New Delhi, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the ‘Khoj-e-Braj’ project was signed at the Constitution Club in New Delhi on September 17. Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Murli Manohar Joshi attended the event as the chief guest and also launched a book titled ‘Mohan Bhagwat.’
The ‘Khoj-e-Braj’ project aims to conduct an in-depth study of the history, culture, and archaeology of the Braj region. It will focus on researching ancient texts, literature, and cultural heritage to provide younger generations with a deeper understanding of their history and legacy.
During the event, Joshi praised the initiative in an interview with a news agency. He stated, “This is a very good program. It is essential. Many significant institutions in our country are still unknown to the public. It is unfortunate that we know so little about our heritage.”
He emphasized that knowledge about the great personalities who contributed to Indian literature and culture is limited. “There is a lack of information about the great figures in our country, but if such institutions work today, it will advance research,” he noted. Joshi highlighted that similar initiatives worldwide are often driven by organizations rather than governments, with researchers playing a key role.
The senior leader stressed the importance of studying the Braj region to understand India’s cultural roots. He remarked that Braj is not only a religious site but also a hub for literature, music, and art. Projects like ‘Khoj-e-Braj’ will play a crucial role in preserving this heritage.
Earlier, Joshi had extended birthday wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the social media platform X, writing, “Chiranjeevi Bhava: heartfelt wishes on your birthday.”
The event was attended by historians, researchers, and various dignitaries associated with culture. Organizers announced that field research and documentation in the Braj area would commence soon following the MoU signing.
Kuwar Basit Ali, president of the BJP’s minority front, remarked on Prime Minister Modi’s 25 years of service, stating, “It feels as if an angel is working. Whether it’s the welfare of the poor, empowerment of women, or safety, it doesn’t seem like he is the Prime Minister. It feels like he is a senior family member looking after his household.”
