Ranchi, June 21: Jamshedpur Steelers triumphed over Dhanbad Diamonds by 31 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis rule in the 21st match of the Jharkhand Premier League 2026. This victory at the JSCA International Stadium Complex has secured the Steelers a spot in the semifinals.
Jamshedpur Steelers have now become the third team to reach the semifinals. Batting first, they scored 220 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their 20 overs. Kumar Karan and captain Kumar Devbrat provided a solid start, adding 53 runs for the first wicket. Karan scored 30 runs off 14 balls, hitting 2 fours and 3 sixes. Captain Devbrat contributed 31 runs off 27 balls before returning to the pavilion. Anurag Sengar had a disappointing outing, managing only 9 runs.
Ravi Sharma could not capitalize on the good start, scoring 29 runs off 20 balls before getting out. Niten Reddy made 34 runs off 21 balls, including 3 fours and 2 sixes, before retiring out. In the final overs, Kunein Qureshi played a blistering innings, scoring an unbeaten 68 runs off just 31 balls, featuring 6 fours and 5 sixes.
However, rain interrupted the second innings, leading to a revised target of 185 runs for Dhanbad Diamonds in 16 overs. The Dhanbad team had a poor start, with Ram Sharan dismissed for just 12 runs and Vikas Vishal returning to the pavilion after scoring 19 runs off 6 balls. Bishesh Dutta managed 20 runs off 16 balls, while Aditya Singh could only score 6 runs.
