New Delhi, August 7: In Jharkhand, student organizations are intensifying their protests against alleged irregularities in the recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC). On Friday, they plan to march towards the state assembly.
The “Assembly March” is set to begin at 11 AM, with protesting students urging candidates from across the state to unite and participate.
The demonstrators are demanding a corruption-free JPSC and JSSC and have called on youth aspiring for jobs in Jharkhand to join their movement to secure their future.
This march comes as the protests by students and job seekers enter their 14th day, gaining widespread support from various student organizations across the state.
Representatives from multiple student groups participated in the protest held at the Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi, expressing solidarity with the candidates and reiterating their demands for transparency and accountability in the state’s recruitment process.
Earlier, the protesters had announced plans to encircle the assembly during the ongoing monsoon session. They clarified that their primary demand is not for any individual’s resignation, but rather the cancellation of the allegedly tainted recruitment examinations and the establishment of a judicial inquiry.
Meanwhile, student leader Devendra Mahto continues his indefinite hunger strike, while other protesters have remained at the demonstration site despite heavy rainfall. The protesting students emphasized that adverse weather conditions will not weaken their resolve, pledging to continue their protests until concrete action is taken.
The protesters also stated that their movement is entirely non-political, relying on voluntary support, including food and refreshments provided by local temples and social organizations.
