Jharkhand Congress Accuses Government of Deceiving Women Under the Guise of Reservation

Ranchi, April 19: The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee has accused the central government of deceiving half the population of the country under the pretext of women’s reservation. They claim that the government is orchestrating a deep conspiracy to gain power.

During a press conference held at the Congress Bhavan on Sunday, state president Keshav Mahato Kamlesh, legislative party leader Pradeep Yadav, and rural development minister Deepika Pandey Singh jointly criticized the central government regarding the issue of women’s reservation.

Keshav Mahato Kamlesh stated that the Modi-Shah duo intends to delay women’s reservation by linking it to the 2011 census and delimitation. He alleged that the government’s true intention is not to empower women but to exploit political advantages through delimitation.

Kamlesh openly challenged the government, saying, “If the intentions are clear, then drop the census excuse and present a bill for 33% reservation in the current 543 seats during the 2029 general elections. The opposition will fully support it.”

Responding to Prime Minister Modi’s address to the nation, he labeled it as an “election speech.” He emphasized that Congress has provided leadership through women like Annie Besant, Sarojini Naidu, and Indira Gandhi long before the BJP was even formed.

Pradeep Yadav, leader of the Congress legislative party, questioned the sudden need for new amendments when the bill had already been passed unanimously in 2023. He accused the government of avoiding the census because it would reveal the actual numbers of SC, ST, and OBC communities. The central government is using delimitation to cut reservations for ST, SC, OBC, and minority women, which the opposition has exposed.

Rural development minister Deepika Pandey Singh remarked that the BJP’s arithmetic set for the next election has been decoded by the opposition. This is why the BJP is agitated after the bill’s failure for the first time. Meanwhile, the state women’s Congress president, Rama Khalkho, announced that the Congress will launch movements in every district to expose the central government’s conspiracy against this political scheme.
