Giridih, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren visited Giridih on Thursday to pay his respects to the late minister and Giridih MLA, Sudivya Kumar Sonu, during his twelfth-day ritual. The tribute ceremony took place at Utsav Upvan in Harsinharaidih, where the Chief Minister laid flowers at Sonu’s portrait and expressed his condolences to the grieving family. Soren appeared visibly emotional during the tribute.
He stated that the loss of Sudivya Kumar Sonu is an irreplaceable blow to the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and the entire state. The Chief Minister described the late leader not only as a colleague but also as a big brother and mentor. He emphasized that Sonu’s dedication and contributions to the fight for the state’s rights and ‘Jharkhandiyat’ would always be remembered.
Among those attending the ceremony were Gandey MLA Kalpana Soren, several state ministers, public representatives, party leaders, senior administrative officials, and a large gathering of citizens. Kalpana Soren also paid her respects by placing flowers on Sonu’s portrait and met with his grieving family. She expressed that Sonu’s untimely passing is a significant loss for the JMM family and personally for her as well. She noted that the affection and camaraderie of ‘Sonu Bhaiya’ will always remain in their memories and prayed for peace for his soul while wishing strength for his family during this difficult time.
Other ministers and senior leaders, including Shilpi Neha Tirkey, Deepika Pandey Singh, Deepak Birua, Irfan Ansari, and Hafeezul Hasan, participated in the tribute, laying flowers and extending their condolences to the bereaved family.
The event saw a large turnout, prompting the administration to implement special security and traffic arrangements. Comprehensive measures were taken at the venue. Sudivya Kumar Sonu, a senior leader of the JMM, passed away unexpectedly on September 6, leading to widespread mourning across the state.
