Elderly Man Dies Following Alleged Attack by Brother Over Family Dispute in Bihar

Bhojpur, September 18 (Daily Kiran) : In Bhojpur, Bihar, a 73-year-old man has died following an alleged assault by his younger brother during a family dispute rooted in superstition. The incident occurred in Mithha village, within the jurisdiction of the Dhanghai police station.

The victim, identified as Heeralal Ram, sustained severe head injuries and succumbed to them at home on Friday morning. Family members reported that the altercation escalated when Heeralal visited his brother, Lalbabu Ram, leading to a violent confrontation.

The conflict reportedly stemmed from Lalbabu’s belief that Heeralal’s occult practices were linked to the death of his daughter two and a half years ago. Following the argument, Lalbabu allegedly attacked Heeralal with sticks and rods.

Heeralal was later brought home in critical condition, where he died from his injuries. Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the village, seized the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination at Ara Sadar Hospital. Authorities confirmed that Lalbabu Ram has fled the scene.

Bhojpur police stated they are waiting for a written complaint from the family before proceeding with legal action, including the arrest of the accused.
