Patna, July 29: JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar responded to various political developments, including the paper leak bill, NEET paper leak chargesheet, and comments made by Rahul Gandhi.
Kumar addressed remarks made by Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi regarding Union Education Minister Prakash Joshi. He questioned, “What direction is politics heading? Can such statements be made without any basis? What evidence exists? Is there any documented proof? If a leader from the Congress party or the INDIA alliance makes such statements, it is a shame for democracy.”
Regarding the NEET paper leak chargesheet, Kumar stated, “The CBI initiated immediate action in the NEET exam case at the request of the central government, and this process has now reached the chargesheet filing stage. Additionally, new bills are being introduced. This demonstrates the impact of strict laws on those attempting to disrupt the education system and jeopardize students’ futures and qualifications. Now that the chargesheet has been filed, those guilty will face consequences under the law and may end up in jail.”
On the discussion about paper leaks in Parliament, Kumar noted, “When the opposition demanded an extension for discussion on the paper leak issue, the ruling party agreed. There is no issue with this, as preventing paper leaks is a priority. A committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Infosys’ chairman, and we hope the opposition will provide constructive suggestions. If Rahul Gandhi wishes to criticize, we expect him to also take responsibility for the failures of the Ashok Gehlot government, where allegedly 15 exam papers were leaked.”
In response to Priyanka Kharge’s statement, Kumar remarked, “There is no need to unnecessarily dig into history; it needs to be understood. No one can deny Subhas Chandra Bose’s contributions. The roles of Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, and Subhas Chandra Bose were significant, though their methods differed and sometimes contradicted each other. However, their goal was the same: the country’s freedom. Therefore, we should learn from history, understand the facts, and comprehend the circumstances rather than unnecessarily criticize or create controversies.”
Regarding farmers’ protests in Bhopal attempting to break barricades towards the CM’s house, Kumar stated, “Everyone has the right to express their opinion in a democracy. However, when a specific area is declared a restricted zone by consensus among all parties in a state or union territory, everyone must adhere to those restrictions, whether they are a public organization or a political party.”
Kumar also addressed the Cauvery water dispute, stating, “The Cauvery water issue has been one of the major disputes in the country, involving Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. This is not a political agenda. However, the relevant government should present its arguments logically in the state’s interest. If a state presents its case based on facts and arguments, no one can deprive it of its rightful share, as India follows a federal structure. If the BJP claims that the Karnataka government has not adequately represented its position on the Cauvery water issue based on facts, that is a matter of their political argument.”
