Ahmedabad, May 10: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit to Gujarat, Jamnagar has been beautifully illuminated and decorated. Various events are scheduled in Jamnagar, Somnath, and Vadodara on May 10 and 11.
The main roads, government buildings, and intersections in Jamnagar have been adorned with decorative lights, stretching from the Air Force Station to Lal Bangla Circle. Key locations such as Darbargadh, DKV College, Bedi Naka, Pavan Chakki, Annapurna Circle, and Mahakali Circle have also been lit up, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the city.
Documentary films showcasing welfare schemes implemented under PM Modi’s leadership are being screened at major intersections.
On Sunday, May 10, a public welcome event is scheduled at Lal Bangla Circle around 7:30 PM. During this event, Gujarati folk singer Kirtidan Gadhvi will present ‘Lok Dairo’, while cultural performances like ‘Hudo Raas’, ‘Sidi Dhamal’, and ‘Maniyaro Raas’ will be organized by local Saurashtra groups.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Modi’s Gujarat itinerary includes events in Jamnagar, Somnath, and Vadodara.
On May 11, PM Modi will participate in the ‘Somnath Amrit Mahotsav’, marking the 75th anniversary of the inauguration of the reconstructed Somnath Temple. During this visit, he is scheduled to partake in special Maha Puja, Kumbhabhishek, and flag hoisting ceremonies at the temple.
These events in Somnath are part of celebrations commemorating the temple’s reconstruction after independence, deeply connected to India’s first Home Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Special programs during this visit will include the Indian Air Force’s first-ever ‘Surya Kiran’ aerobatic air show over Somnath, along with a unique ‘Kumbhabhishek’ ceremony using holy water brought from 11 pilgrimage sites across the country.
Following this, on Monday, May 11, PM Modi will head to Vadodara, where he will inaugurate the ‘Sardar Dham Hostel Complex’ near Vaghodia Circle. Local officials and BJP workers are preparing for a significant turnout. A roadshow is also anticipated during this visit.
