Jammu and Kashmir Police Seizes Property of Pakistani Terrorist Leader

Srinagar, May 16: The police in Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir, announced on Friday that they have seized the property of a terrorist leader operating from Pakistan as part of a broader crackdown on terrorist networks.

In an official statement, the police revealed that the declared criminal, linked to the terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen, had infiltrated into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) for weapons training and was now functioning as a terrorist leader from there.

The police confiscated the criminal’s immovable assets under an FIR registered in accordance with Section 2/3 of the Exit and Internal Movement Control Ordinance (EIMCO) at the Panzalla police station.

The accused has been identified as Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, also known as Haider, the son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Bhat, and a resident of Rohama in Baramulla.

Investigations revealed that the accused had illegally crossed into POK to receive training in illegal arms and ammunition and is associated with the banned terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen. He is currently coordinating with the Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist network operating from Pakistan.

In collaboration with the revenue department, the police executed the seizure of six marlas of land in Dayangrut Rohama and ten marlas in Reshinar Rohama, valued in the millions.

Despite ongoing efforts, the accused had evaded legal action for a long time, leading the court to declare him a fugitive under Section 88 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Following this, the seizure was carried out in compliance with court orders after proper verification through revenue records and local investigations.
