Born on June 23, 1952, Raj Babbar received his acting education from the National School of Drama. He began his film career with the movie “Kissa Kursi Ka” and later made a significant mark in both Hindi and Punjabi cinema.
Throughout his extensive career, he garnered acclaim from audiences and critics alike for his outstanding performances in films such as “Insaaf Ka Tarazu,” “Nikaah,” “Aaj Ki Awaaz,” “Agar Tum Na Hote,” “Ziddi,” “Barsaat,” “Yarana,” and “Aankhein.”
In his personal life, Raj Babbar is married to renowned theater artist and actress Nadira Babbar. They have two children: daughter Juhi Babbar, a theater actress and producer, and son Arya Babbar, an actor. Juhi is married to actor Anup Soni, making him Raj Babbar’s son-in-law.
Raj Babbar’s love story with the late actress Smita Patil was widely discussed in the 1980s. Their son, Prateek Babbar, is also a film actor. Smita Patil passed away shortly after giving birth to Prateek in 1986.
