Irans Missile Program Poses Global Threat, Warns Marco Rubio

Washington, April 2: U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has raised alarms about Iran’s missile capabilities, stating they can reach deep into Europe. Defending ongoing military actions against Tehran, he warned of a significant global threat stemming from Iran’s weapons program.

In an interview with Fox News, Rubio highlighted recent missile tests by Iran that demonstrated capabilities previously denied by the regime. He asserted that these missiles could penetrate far into Europe.

Rubio explained that this missile threat is part of Iran’s broader efforts to expand its military reach, including the development of long-range systems that could ultimately target the United States. He noted that Iran is progressing towards acquiring missiles capable of reaching the American mainland.

Linking Iran’s missile program directly to its nuclear ambitions, Rubio emphasized that both issues must be addressed simultaneously. He revealed that Tehran has enriched uranium to 60% purity and retains the capacity to quickly escalate this to weapon-grade levels.

“The only reason for holding 60% enriched uranium is to further enrich it to 90% and use it for bomb-making,” Rubio stated. He also accused Iran of rejecting multiple opportunities to dismantle or transfer its uranium stockpile.

The United States has initiated a coordinated military campaign aimed at preventing Iran from concealing its nuclear program under the guise of advanced weapon systems. This campaign has four main objectives: to destroy Iran’s air force and navy, neutralize missile launch systems, and completely eliminate factories producing drones and missiles.

Rubio asserted, “We are either on schedule or ahead of schedule in achieving these four objectives.” He added that the U.S. military is nearing its goals.

The Secretary of State described the military operation as highly effective, calling it one of the best-executed strategic military campaigns in modern times.

Despite the military actions, Rubio indicated that Washington remains open to diplomatic avenues. He mentioned that President Trump prioritizes dialogue over war. Communication between both sides is ongoing, and there is a strong possibility of direct negotiations.

However, he warned that diplomatic efforts would not delay military objectives.

Regarding maritime security, Rubio cautioned that any attempt by Iran to disrupt shipping in the Strait of Hormuz would violate international law and harm the global economy. He stated that such actions would be “illegal” and a concern for countries reliant on energy supplies from the region.
