Iran Questions US-Israel Relations Amid Rising Tensions in the Middle East

New Delhi, May 27: Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, has sparked a new debate amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. He has raised questions about the alignment between the United States and Israel.

Araghchi noted discrepancies in claims regarding negotiations between the White House and Iran. He also asserted that thousands of American troops are being deployed in the region.

He stated, “The question now is, if Donald Trump succeeds in brokering a ceasefire, will the US and Israel agree on the final outcome of this conflict?”

In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Araghchi remarked, “The White House and Iran are sending mixed signals about whether talks have even begun, while thousands of American soldiers are moving towards the Middle East. Even if Trump manages to establish a ceasefire, it remains unclear whether the US and Israel are on the same page regarding the conflict’s ultimate resolution. What do you think?”

In another post, he mentioned, “It has been a month since the US and Israel initiated hostilities against Iran, and governments worldwide are now trying to assess the long-term impacts on the global economy and political landscape.”

He emphasized that much will depend on the duration of this conflict and how long Iran can maintain its blockade on fuel exports and the passage of other cargo ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has accused the US of violating ceasefire rules, labeling it a malicious act and a breach of promises. Iran reiterated its strong condemnation of these aggressive actions, stating they are a blatant violation of the United Nations Charter. Tehran vowed to respond decisively to these actions.

It is noteworthy that on the morning of May 26, the US launched an attack in the Strait of Hormuz. According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), this action was taken in self-defense. CENTCOM spokesperson Timothy Hawkins stated that these strikes were aimed at protecting American troops and naval vessels from threats. The US reportedly targeted boats allegedly laying mines near the Strait of Hormuz, as well as a surface-to-air missile site near the port of Bandar Abbas.
