London, May 31: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has issued a stern warning. If the United States interferes in the management of the Hormuz Strait, it will face severe military repercussions.
According to the Xinhua News Agency, the IRGC Navy alerted vessels operating in the strategically vital waterway. This warning came after recordings from public maritime radio channels were made available by the crews of some ships stranded near the strait.
The IRGC stated that the Hormuz Strait remains closed. Passage through this critical area will only be permitted with the IRGC Navy’s approval and along designated routes set by Iran.
The warning emphasized that any violation of these rules could pose a serious threat to maritime security.
In the radio broadcast, the IRGC Navy also declared that if the U.S. Navy attempts to interfere in the management of the Hormuz Strait or obstruct vessel movements, it will face strict military action.
On Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced plans to lift the blockade on Iranian vessels in the Hormuz Strait. However, a notice issued by the Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC) stated that U.S. sanctions on Iranian ports remain in effect. Ships are still prohibited from entering or exiting Iranian ports.
The JMIC, a multinational maritime advisory body operating under a U.S.-led framework, warned that vessels failing to comply with these sanctions could face action from U.S. forces. This could include disabling or destroying the ships.
Additional recordings from the public maritime radio channel revealed that early Saturday, a U.S. military aircraft warned a vessel to return immediately, stating that its activities were being closely monitored.
