Iran Conflict Approaches Key Objectives as US Continues Diplomatic Talks

Washington, March 26: The White House has announced that the U.S. military campaign against Iran is progressing “ahead of schedule” and is nearing its primary objectives. Meanwhile, Washington is engaged in “meaningful” discussions with Tehran aimed at resolving the conflict.

White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt informed reporters that the United States is close to achieving the main goals of “Operation Epic Fury.” She described the campaign as a “resounding military victory” following nearly four weeks of warfare.

“In just over three weeks, it has become clear that Operation Epic Fury has proven to be a significant military success,” she stated, noting that over 9,000 enemy targets have been struck to date.

Levitt reported a nearly 90% reduction in Iranian missile and drone attacks since the campaign began. She claimed that the U.S. has destroyed more than 140 Iranian naval vessels, marking it as “the largest naval destruction in three weeks since World War II.”

“With each passing day, our military efforts are becoming more successful, and Iran’s ability to intimidate commercial shipping is continuously diminishing,” she added.

The White House emphasized that the campaign has significantly weakened Iran’s capacity to threaten shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial route for global energy supplies.

Over the weekend, U.S. forces dropped “multiple 5,000-pound bombs” on an underground facility near the strait, which was reportedly used for storing anti-ship missiles and launchers.

Levitt stated that the U.S. is “very close to achieving the main objectives of this campaign,” which officials had initially estimated would take four to six weeks. On the 25th day of the operation, she remarked that the military is “ahead of schedule and performing exceptionally.”

Despite ongoing attacks, Washington has shown openness to diplomacy. Levitt noted that Iran has expressed a willingness to negotiate following recent U.S. pressure.

“It became clear after President Trump’s stern warning on Saturday evening that Iran wants to engage in talks,” she said.

She confirmed that discussions over the past three days have been “meaningful,” leading President Donald Trump to temporarily postpone proposed attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure.

However, she warned that if negotiations fail, military actions could intensify.

“If Iran fails to accept the reality of the current situation… President Trump will ensure that they face an even harsher response,” she cautioned, adding that the President “does not bluff.”

Levitt dismissed media reports regarding a proposed U.S. “15-point plan” to end the conflict, labeling them partially inaccurate and based on “speculation from unnamed sources.”

The administration is also working to stabilize global energy markets amid the conflict. This includes collaborating with international partners to maintain oil supplies and mitigate fuel shortages.

Levitt indicated that there is no immediate timeline for fully restoring tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, but it remains a key objective.

Regarding diplomacy, she reiterated that discussions are sensitive and ongoing. “We will not delve into the details… these talks are still in progress.”

The White House also announced that President Trump’s meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping will now take place on May 14-15 in Beijing, having been postponed due to the ongoing conflict.
