New Delhi, February 24: The Indian Navy’s vessel INS Sudarshini has reached Safaga, Egypt. This ship is notable for its remarkable journey of over 22,000 nautical miles. The three-masted naval barque is currently undertaking this maritime expedition using its sails.
After a journey lasting approximately 16 days and covering 1,832 nautical miles, it has successfully arrived at Safaga. Prior to this, it completed its first port call at the port of Salalah in Oman. The voyage from Salalah to Safaga marks a significant achievement, showcasing the crew’s confidence and endurance.
Navigating through the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea was a crucial operational phase for the Indian crew. This was due to the challenging weather conditions and heavy maritime traffic encountered during the journey.
