BJP Leader Criticizes Congress for Hypocrisy Over UPI Charges

Patna, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : BJP leader Guru Prakash has sharply criticized the Congress party for its opposition to the UPI charges, calling it a prime example of their double standards. Speaking in Patna, he pointed out that Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge, only voiced their concerns after significant delays.

Prakash noted that discussions regarding UPI charges had already taken place in a parliamentary committee, which included senior leaders like P. Chidambaram and Gaurav Gogoi. He accused Rahul Gandhi of spreading misinformation and suggested that the party’s late reaction indicated a lack of genuine concern.

He emphasized that the new UPI charges would not adversely affect 96% of transactions, asserting that they would strengthen infrastructure for small businesses. Prakash expressed that Rahul Gandhi lacked the moral authority to criticize the government’s decision.

In a separate matter, social activist Manoj Jarange ended his hunger strike regarding Maratha reservations, giving the government three months to address his demands. Prakash responded, stating that the issue of reservations is subject to the judicial process of the Supreme Court and should not be politicized unnecessarily.

On another note, Prakash praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and the ongoing Seva Sankalp campaign, describing it as a moment of pride for BJP workers. He highlighted Modi’s popularity and the gratitude of the Indian populace, wishing for the Prime Minister’s long life.

He also discussed the Semicon India 2026 initiative, asserting that Modi’s visionary leadership would establish India as a key player in semiconductor manufacturing, rather than just an observer.

Lastly, Prakash addressed India’s relationship with Afghan refugees, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring their safety and prosperity while fostering stability in Afghanistan.
